Was just checking Amazon to see what it said about my upcoming book, Dress Rehearsal. (As anyone who's written a book knows, checking Amazon first thing every morning becomes as habitual as brushing your teeth) The book was there, along with its description, but I also noticed something I've never seen before. It said, "Based on customer purchases, this is a pick for Early Adopter Literature & Fiction." Early adopters of lit and fiction? What the heck does that mean?

So I clicked on the link and it said, "These are the newest and coolest products our customers of Literature & Fiction are buying. This list, updated daily, is based entirely on purchase patterns."

So I went down the list and right there at #14 was my very own Dress Rehearsal!! What was really exciting was that the books on the list were quite impressive (which would make one wonder how my book made it). Also on the list at #6 the critically acclaimed Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell, and at #1 Pearl S. Buck's The Good Earth, which was Oprah's pick.

I read The Good Earth as a Freshman in high school, so being on a list, any list, with a book that was assigned reading, is pretty cool. Now if I could only figure out how to get Dress Rehearsal on required reading lists in high schools around the country....
