Wake up with Judy Blume!

I've never been a morning person, even though as I get older I'm beginning to appreciate the benefits of rising before everyone else (such as peace and quiet and nobody asking me questions like, What are you doing? Why are you doing that? Can you drive me to my friend's house? or Can we have Burger King for dinner?).

But if you are someone who enjoys catching a glimpse of the sun as it rises, and you're looking for something to do, tomorrow morning, I'll be on Reading with Robin at a whopping 7:30am est!! The radio show is on WHJJ 920AM and also streamed on the Web here. We'll be talking about EVERYTHING...JUDY BLUME. And I'll be feeling terribly productive for a Saturday morning...and terribly unproductive and sloth-like when I pass out on a lounge chair latter on in the afternoon (and I promise it won't be due to the strawbery daiquiri I'll have in my hand).

Definitely beats writing a book report.

Megan Crane came to Martha's Vineyard for the launch of EVERYTHING...JUDY BLUME, so I just saw her a few weeks ago. Now she pops up again because her latest book, FRENEMIES, just hit the bookshelves. I read this book months ago because Megan sent me a copy, and I really enjoyed it. I also think it just happens to have a fantastic cover (and in this case you can judge a book by its cover). Her essay in EVERYTHING...JUDY BLUME actually talks about Megan's real life experience losing her best friend, so it was interesting for me to read her true story and then a similar story in fiction.
