Last week was crazy, had something every night after work. From the launch of my friend Hank Phillippi Ryan's first book to taking my kids to see Tony Hawk skateboard at Six Flags. But with all sorts of stuff going on, didn't think there was terribly interesting stuff to talk about. Do you really want to know that as I was leaving work to go to Hank's event at the Ralph Lauren store on Newbury Street my friend and co-worker said to me, "Do you smell?" (for the record I don't believe I did)

But I realized that I didn't bring any make-up or even a brush to attempt to look remotely festive for the event. I borrowed her brush and took care of my hair, then in the car pilfered through my purse in search of something, anything, to make me look good. Found my Pink Poodle Lip Glass. Figured my cheeks needed more pink than my lips and proceeded to dab a little lip gloss on my cheeks. I improvised. Not a good idea. Sticky stuff. Instead of looking attractively flushed I looked as if I'd held a vacuum hose up to my cheek and given myself a hickey.

In any case, am about to begin another week, and the only plans I have after work are to be on TV tomorrow. Am being interviewed on New England Cable News' Wired program. Will definitely not forget to bring regular make-up for reapplication before driving to the studio. Look like a fool once, shame on me. Look like a fool twice and get heckled by my children who will be watching the interview at home and no doubt making fun of me.
