After two weeks on Martha's Vineyard, tomorrow I head back to reality. It was such a great vacation, a bunch of friends visiting us, the MV Book Festival author cocktail party where my husband got to talk with Caroline Kennedy, a ghost tour, some great meals, and super days at the beach. So this afternoon was the perfect ending to our vacation. John, the kids and I spent the afternoon at Judy Blume's home with her and her husband. The kids kayaked and we got to spend a few hours talking. I got to ask all of the questions a girl ever wanted to ask a beloved author as well as just chatting. John and the kids had a great time. At one point my son was out in the kayak and he yelled to us, "This is the most fun ever!" I had to agree.

Hope to hear more about your day and thoughts about spending the day with Judy Blume. For those of us that have not had the honor to spend time with Judy Blume but just read the newly published book, Everything I Needed to Know About Being a Girl I Learned From Judy Blume, which you edited, we are curious to know more.

Thank you for bringing together this talented group of women authors to produce such an emotional read. It would be hard for most women not to travel back to adolesence and all that comes with that time in our lives when reading this book of essays.

Ahh!! I am so jealous! I'd be torn between an afternoon with Judy Blume or an afternoon with Ann M Martin :-D

PS: I started Everything I Need... tonight and I'm already halfway done. It made me want to run and get all the classics and have a read-a-thon
